One Travel app can streamline business trip process all in one place, from booking hotel, flight & car, managing peers’ trip, submitting reimbursement and approving expense in no time.

The Problems

Employees seldomly desire to plan their business trips due to the same reasons: time consuming, complicated approval and reimbursement process.

According to Global Business Travel Association 2017 Survey, about 1.3 million business trips occurred each day in the United States. Corporate travelers took more than 480 million business trips each year. Millennials were set to take 20% more business trips in the next 12 months than Generation Xers. Mature and experienced corporate travelers and millennials are the huge target audiences in this giant market. These two types of travelers share some similarity: impatient, educated and somewhat experienced traveler.

The Solutions

Ideate

Streamline business trip process all in one place to reduce trip planning, reimbursement documentation & approval time by the following features and technologies.

To envision the future, I did user research, marketing research, drew storyboard, developed user flows and Information Architecture. One Travel has four MVP features to reduce booking time and reimbursement process.

The more users have searched through the site, the smarter One Travel is. It will sort users’ favorite options faster for quicker booking experience.

Integration with HR software, One Travel receives info to determine users’ policy restriction, budget and search options immediately to have a faster on-boarding and approval experiences.

With pre-set business policy, users can search and book flight, hotel and car rental within their policies that managers don’t have to pre-approve every booking prior the trip.

Users can take photo of all their receipts. With AI technology, many information such as price and date are pre-populated in the expense details screen.

User Interview

User interview with about 10 people, with mix gender and ages that have business trips occasionally and frequently.

Low Fidelity Prototype & Refine User Flow

Sketch paper prototype and refine user flow by testing paper prototype with 3 people

High-Fidelity Prototype & User Testing

Develop high-fidelity prototype in Sketch, do more user testings and observe user behaviors with InVision prototype

04.

Finalize Interface and Experience

Make some final changes based on user testing and user interviews.
