BoxWorks 2018 Registration
The Challenge
To improve BoxWorks registration experience and conversation rate
BoxWorks 2017 focused on building the conference website web system and agenda app, so registration page experience was not a priority back then. Event team learned that registration page was very crucial to improve the overall registration experience; therefore, they planned to spend resources to redesign the registration page for BoxWorks 2018, especially the team could re-purpose the promotion site web system and agenda app that we have built last year.
The Problem
- The registration page was designed with one lengthy page.
- Too many questions and details
- No save option that user needs to refill the entire form all at once
- Event team couldn’t get the potential user information for marketing and up-selling strategy
The Solution
- Multi-page experience
User could save their registrations by step and they won’t feel like a long and complicated questionnaire. User sometimes needs to request manager approval in order to upgrade the ticket or add training workshop package. - Ask user a couple basic information, full name and work email, as the first step
Event Team could collect potential user contact information ahead of time for marketing and up-selling purpose - Hide irrelevant question
Only show the appropriate questions or input field based on user choices and preference. User could skip unnecessary questions and finish registration faster. - Send reminder
Send email reminder if user hasn’t completed the registration after certain amount of time.
